Girls' Night Out
Thank you, Elizabeth, for your comment. My family and I do have a lot of fun and keep fairly busy.
Last night, the Sabetha/Seneca homeschoolers put on an end of the year program. After the program a bunch of guys started a game of basketball. I was in a dress and couldn't play, but I was in there and was talking to one of them. All of a sudden this ball comes spinning through the air, directly at my head! I ducked. It was very fortunate that I did because the ball smacked the wall right behind my where my head had just been and went bouncing off towards Justin. I guess being short is a good thing: I would have had to duck a lot farther and might have done more than just sloshed my lemonade in my cup.
On the other hand, being short is slightly awkward. I took Dad out to the field in his pickup this afternoon. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the seat to slide up so I could reach the pedals. So all the way out to the field I perched on the front of the seat and hung on to the steering wheel whenever we went up hill. Dad fixed the seat once we got to the field, and I sat normally on the trip back.
This evening Lydia and I went over to a friend's house for a game of volleyball. It was fun. Poor Molly, playing on a high school volleyball team then coming to our party where no one really knows how to play volleyball. Afterwards, we sat around and had s'mores and cookies. Yum.
Tomorrow, I'm going to a wedding! :D

How was the wedding?
There are innumerable advantages to shortness, which I haven't been able to claim for many-a-year now (the last time I was short, I was nine or ten years old)... (and if you want to know why I don't like basketball--it's probably because in my tallness, I was unable to dodge a few too many balls...) :D I don't know what people find particularly attractive in tallness. It is usually accompanied by clumsiness.
My ten-year-old brother can't reach the brake on our riding mower, even though he's been the main lawn-mower of our family for about a year now. (it's something of a legend: a city boy, mowing two acres of yard on a riding mower at age nine...) Anyhow. He's not allowed to do the hill yet. :o)
Marty,
I'm glad you enjoyed the party we had! It was so fun! Yes, Mollie is good! Although she won't admit it. :D It was great seeing you then! Hope we can do it again sometime!
Christ's love,
Kourtney
Shortness is sometimes funny.......the other day I was driving the tractor and I had to stand up off the seat to reach the brake!!! :)
